Children are welcome at all of our events, and the following are activities specifically arranged for children.
The toddler group meets on Tuesday mornings, 9.45am to 11.45am, and Thursday mornings, 9.45am to 11.45am, in the Church Room. It is open to everybody including dads, grandparents and carers with children aged 0 to 3 years. You will meet other parents, and your children will play in a safe environment. Coffee and juice are provided, and there is a mixture of toys, singing, craft and chat. Please see the diary for the times.
Seekers is the name for the Holy Cross Sunday School. The children, aged 4 1/2 to 10 years, meet at 9.30am at the Memorial Hall in Manor Rise. The aim is to introduce the children to the Christian faith in a safe and fun environment with a range of activities, craft, games, music and stories.
Messy Church celebrations are held monthly either Thurnham C.E. Infant School or in the Memorial Hall one Sunday each term. The celebrations start at 9.45am on Sunday morning.
Thurnham Lighthouse Club
This group meets after school on Thursday afternoons at Thurnham School 3.15 to 4.15pm.
We welcome young singers from the age of seven upwards. Junior choristers sing, learn about music and their role in church worship. They join the full choir as they become ready. The choir is affiliated to the RSCM, and choristers follow the RSCM training scheme. The younger members of the choir make an important contribution in special services and weddings. Choir practice is at 7.30pm on a Friday evening.
