What is Alpha? The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, friendly and fun way. No question is considered too simple or too hostile. Alpha is for everyone, especially:
Those wanting to investigate Christianity
New Christians
Newcomers to the Church
Those who want to brush up on the basics
What's involved?
The course consists of a series of talks looking at topics such as: Who is Jesus?; Why did Jesus die?; Why read the Bible?; Why and How do I pray?; How does God guide us?; Does God heal today?; What about the Church?; How and Why do we tell others?
A typical weekly session begins with a meal at 7pm, which is followed by a talk and then a time for discussion in small groups. The evening concludes at 9:30pm.
You can find out more about the Alpha course, without committing yourself, by coming to the Alpha Supper which is usually held in July.
When do the courses run?
The course usually begins towards the end of September and finishes in mid December.
What will it Cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha Course, although you will be asked to make a contribution towards the food.
