Sunday Services

Holy Cross offers a wide range of worship with the aim of ensuring that people feel 'at home'. Please see the diary for the times of services next week in case of any alterations. Below is a guide to our services.

Please see worship for details of our 'OFF-SITE' and WEEKDAY services.

8:00am Holy Communion This is a traditional service without music using the 1662 prayer book. On the first Sunday of the month this service is held at St.Mary's, Thurnham.

9:45am Sung Eucharist This is a well-attended service with hymns and choir. There is a créche. The children attending the youth groups join the congregation during the service so that the Holy Cross family are together at communion. A few times a year there is an All Age Eucharist in place of the usual service (See Worship).

6:30pm Choral Evensong Evensong, using the Book of Common Prayer, features a wide selection of traditional church music sung by the choir. The service is held on the second and fourth Sundays at Holy Cross (at St.Mary's on the first Sunday).

This service is based on the worship of the Taize Community in France. The service is held alternate months (See Diary) and attracts people from other parishes and denominations. The next Taize visit will in August 2007. For more details, please see 'Taize' under news.
